Bio

Jeff Mamett is a modern Americana songwriter whose music is built on character, place, and lived experience. Drawing from the storytelling traditions of Guy Clark and John Prine, with the dry wit and western edge of artists like Corb Lund and Hayes Carll, Mamett writes songs that feel worn in rather than polished up — honest, restrained, and grounded in real life.

Raised around horses, cattle, and rural work, Mamett developed an early connection to the landscapes and people that would later populate his songs. He began playing guitar at age seven and was performing regularly by his early teens, eventually spending years as a sideman recording and touring with other artists. Life eventually pulled him away from the music industry as he focused on raising a family and working in agriculture — running cattle operations, working feedlots, and living fully outside the world of stages and studios.

That time away didn’t pause the songwriting — it deepened it. When Mamett returned to writing and recording his own music, the songs carried the weight of experience rather than ambition. His 2018 album *Carry Me Back* was met with critical praise, noting his vivid imagery, western sensibility, and natural command of narrative songwriting.

Rodeo Girls marks the beginning of a new chapter. As the first release from an upcoming album, it introduces a body of work focused on people who choose freedom over comfort, motion over certainty, and honesty over explanation. Mamett’s music isn’t built for spectacle — it’s built for connection, especially in live rooms where stories matter and songs are meant to be shared face to face.
